AP/IB and dual enrollment
Many students entering The Honors College have taken Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate classes in high school. Other students may have taken dual enrollment courses through the Virginia Community College System or other institutions of higher education. Scores earned on the AP or IB tests determine credit at VCU. Generally, credit will be awarded for AP scores of a three or above and for IB scores of four to seven. Courses taken as dual enrollment will be treated as VCU courses or as transfer credits, per evaluation guidelines. Credit generally will be awarded for dual enrollment courses with grades of ‘C’ or better.
