Jared Johnson is an administrator who manages and directs all advising for the Honors College.
Jared started in the Honors College as a coordinator of academic affairs, a position which he held from the Spring of 2019 to the Summer of 2022. In the Spring of 2022, Jared was promoted to Senior Academic Advisor for the Honors College.
Prior to joining the Honors College, Jared worked as the advisor and instructor for the History Department at VCU. He also worked for several years at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where he advised and instructed students for the College of Arts and Sciences.
 
Jared holds a M.A. degree in Anthropology from the University of Tennessee. He also has his B.A. degree at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln where he quadruple majored in History, Anthropology, Classical Languages and Classics and Religious Studies. He is a very avid member of NCHC and NACADA, where he has presented on topics relating to liberal arts  and honors education.
