As an Assistant Dean and Director of the National Scholarship Office, Mr. Wing recruits VCU students and recent alumni to apply for a variety of nationally competitive scholarships and fellowships, works with the applicants to develop their proposals, and coordinates a large and growing group of VCU faculty, staff, alumni and community supporters to serve as critics and evaluators in an effort to help the candidates strengthen their applications.

While he was a student at Kansas State University, Mr. Wing was awarded a Truman Scholarship, was a state finalist for the Rhodes Scholarship and a national finalist for the Marshall Scholarship. At law school, he served as a proctor (academic advisor for first-year students) at Harvard College. Mr. Wing also served on the Truman Scholarship nominating committee at Harvard and was a graduate teaching assistant at the Harvard Negotiation Project.

Mr. Wing received his B.A. in Political Science and Social Sciences from Kansas State University and his J.D. from Harvard Law School. Prior to joining the Honors College staff, he worked as a negotiation consultant for public and private organizations in North America, Europe and Asia.
