Honors Career Services Events

Each semester, the Honors College collaborates with Career Services to host a series of workshops and events to help prepare students for life after graduation. These career-focused workshops help students gain skills in networking, interviewing, writing personal statements, finding internships, applying to jobs and more!

Define Your “Why”: Writing Personal Statements with Purpose
Wednesday, October 8 | 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m.
Virtual | Register Here

Your personal statement is an opportunity to set yourself apart from other applicants. You can discuss who you are and what is important to you, while providing depth about your "why" and your journey. Students intending to apply to graduate or professional school, and those using personal statements to apply for scholarships, are encouraged to attend. A recording of the workshop will be shared with students who register for the event.

Are You Career Ready?
Wednesday, November 12 | 12:30 p.m.-2 p.m.
In person | Honors College Room 1303

For college graduates, career readiness is the foundation upon which a successful career path can be built. For employers, career readiness is a way for hiring managers to identify essential skills during the hiring process. All students are encouraged to attend to learn about what skills employers are looking for, how to showcase those skills, and ways to develop relevant skills.
