Tobi Ojo (far left in photo), an Honors College junior double majoring in health services in the College of Health Professions and sociology in the College of Humanities and Sciences, was named the student recipient for the Tristen Sloane Student Award. The Sloane Student Award is the PACME that is awarded to graduate and undergraduate students, post-docs, and student organizations each year.

Additionally, Honors College senior Noor Chouman (second from left), a double major in chemistry and HPEX in the College of Humanities and Sciences, and Jumana Meri (third from left), a double major in chemistry and biology in the College of Humanities and Sciences, were awarded a PACME for their work with VCU PRIME, which helps support underrepresented and first-generation students pursuing careers in health care.

Recipients are nominated by their university peers for “exceptional efforts and contributions that go beyond their expected roles, advancing VCU's values of inclusive excellence and fostering a welcoming and supportive environment.”

“You embody the values of this institution, of our entire community, and you welcome all who come,” said VCU President Michael Rao, Ph.D. of the recipients.
